It’s official — Meghna Gulzar has wrapped up the shoot of Daayra, and Bollywood already has its eyes on what could be one of the sharpest thrillers of 2026. Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles, the investigative drama is backed by Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios, marking a powerful collaboration with big-screen intent.
Daayra revolves around an unsettling truth — a single vicious act that triggers deep societal fractures and forces people to pick sides. Meghna, known for her intensely researched and thought-provoking films like Talvar and Raazi, once again dives into the psychology behind crime and consequence. Instead of offering moral comfort, she reportedly leaves the audience questioning everything long after they’ve stepped out of the theatre.
Kareena, who has been pushing boundaries with her recent bold choices, joins hands for the first time with Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran — a pairing cinephiles are already celebrating. A strong ensemble cast strengthens the story, with performances expected to be as layered as the narrative itself.
With filming now complete, post-production officially begins — and the anticipation levels are only rising from here. A story that demands attention, conversations, and confrontation, Daayra is gearing up for a major theatrical release in 2026…and Bollywood thriller lovers better be ready.
