The 50 is a reality show which Vanshaj Singh was supposed to perform on, although, this did not happen as his eviction became one of the first controversies of the shows. Being the first loser in the show, Vanshaj looked mighty disappointed, more so as the ruling was made immediately after the initial Arena task. In his opinion, he had done a good job and helped his team and therefore the eviction did not seem as performance-related but personal.

Vanshaj later used Instagram stories to show his rage soon after the episode aired and he mentioned other contestants who participated in the show such as Prince Narula and Karan Patel. He called them both clowns in a series of crude posts and accused them of playing politics rather than letting contestants be judged on merit. Vanshaj argued that he was voted out only because he did not take time to socialise and he did not make alliances, a factor, according to him, was not to be taken into consideration in a task-oriented competition as was the case with The 50.

The case got out of control when Vanshaj posted screenshots of what she claims was a private message by the team of Prince Narula. The message was cited to have requested him to not make a splash and to make the show like a show, and that there was no personal hatred between them. The message appeared to infuriate Vanshaj even more as opposed to placating him. He asked why they were telling him to shut up when they eliminated him on the very first day and sarcastically received the tone of the message. His posts by Vanshaj were received on social media, as some viewers thought he was being honest, and some thought that he went too far.

In any case, his theatrical departure guaranteed The 50 attracted attention at the very beginning. This show has already made it apparent that the competition will not lack conflict or controversy, as even the tensions have already been spilling on social media after only one episode.
