Bollywood star Ranveer Singh has reportedly decided to step away from Don 3, despite strong buzz surrounding the much-anticipated franchise reboot. According to reports by The Times Entertainment, the actor refused the role following the massive success of his recent film Dhurandhar, which has emerged as a blockbuster.
Sources suggest that Ranveer is now being extremely selective about his projects and wants to avoid being typecast in similar roles. While Dhurandhar firmly established him in a powerful gangster avatar, the actor reportedly does not wish to take on back-to-back roles in the same genre.
It is believed that Ranveer felt playing another gangster character so soon after Dhurandhar could limit his versatility on screen. As a result, he chose to walk away from Don 3, even though the role carried significant hype and expectations.
Meanwhile, reports also claim that Ranveer has asked filmmaker Jai Mehta to fast-track the shoot of Pralay. The actor is said to have urged the director to prepone the project and move quickly into production so that the film can hit screens sooner than initially planned.
With Dhurandhar continuing its strong run at the box office, Ranveer Singh’s career choices reflect his intent to focus on diverse, well-timed roles rather than franchise-driven decisions. Fans are now eagerly waiting to see what genre and character the actor chooses next.
