Homebound actor Vishal Jethwa who has been receiving acclaim for his role in Homebound shared candid memories of his upbringing which he used to explain how his life and career developed through his experiences of hardship. Jethwa shared his personal life story through an emotional interview with Humans of Bombay which showed that he experienced extraordinary challenges during his youth which included the death of his father and their financial hardships.

Vishal lost his father when he was very young and this loss became a defining chapter in his early years. His mother worked as a domestic maid because she wanted to support their family after his father died. Jethwa holds his mother in high regard because she showed great strength even though they experienced financial difficulties.

He thinks the events he experienced gave him special insights into existence which later developed his skills as an actor.Vishal moved to Mira Road with his family after he attended a Gujarati-medium school in Malad.

He later attended Thakur College in Kandivali to continue his education. He started his professional career as a teenager when he worked irregularly as a background dancer for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs. His dedication to serious performances became clear to him when he worked in temporary roles but he discovered that his true passion lay in serious performance.

Vishal explained through his emotional speech that his mother devoted her entire life to keep their family together while she built his career dreams.
