Actor Govinda found himself at the centre of online chatter after videos of him dancing at school annual day events surfaced on social media over the weekend. The actor was seen attending two school functions in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh, a far cry from the big-screen stardom he once commanded. While fans were surprised to see him performing at school events, a section of netizens called it a “downfall,” especially in the wake of recent allegations made by his wife, Sunita Ahuja.
Speaking to ANI during one of the events, Govinda addressed the turbulence in his personal life.
“This wealth and fame don’t spare anyone, and conspiracies like these don’t happen with everyone. I know a very well-known actor who was a victim of it, and now it’s me, though I am not as big as he is,” he said. The actor added that he has been going through a phase of struggle and is praying for strength and the well-being of his children.
“I am a simple man with the blessings of my mother,” Govinda further said, describing himself as a deeply religious person and expressing hope that God would help him overcome the challenges he is currently facing.
The timing of Govinda’s public appearances has drawn heightened attention due to Sunita Ahuja’s recent remarks. In a candid interview, Sunita hinted at Govinda’s alleged infidelity and accused him of playing a “sugar daddy” to struggling actresses. Without naming him directly, she claimed that at the age of 63, with two grown-up children, such behaviour was inappropriate and hurtful to the family. Her statements reignited speculation about trouble in their marriage, which has already been making headlines amid rumours of separation.
While Govinda has not directly responded to Sunita’s allegations, his comments about conspiracies and personal struggle have added another layer to the ongoing narrative. As videos from the school events continue to circulate, public opinion remains divided—some sympathising with the actor’s situation, while others question how far the once-celebrated star has drifted from his cinematic peak.
