The buzz around Border 2 is translating into unprecedented confidence from distributors and exhibitors across the country. As per trade sources, Sunny Deol starrer is all set to enjoy a massive theatrical rollout, with theatres being instructed to dedicate the majority of their screens and shows exclusively to the film.
According to industry insiders, distributors have asked single-screen theatres to allot all their shows to Border 2 for a full two weeks. In the case of cinemas with multiple screens, the directive applies for the first week of release, ensuring maximum visibility during the crucial opening period.
The instructions get even more specific for multiplexes. Two-screen theatres have been told to run Border 2 on both screens for all shows. Three-screen cinemas must programme a minimum of 12 shows per day. Multiplexes with four, five and six screens are required to play 14, 16 and 18 shows per day, respectively. For large properties with seven screens or more, the mandate is a staggering 20 shows per day.
This aggressive exhibition strategy clearly reflects the industry’s belief in the film’s box office potential.
The confidence is further backed by impressive advance booking numbers. As of Monday at 6.00 PM, Border 2 had already sold 13,500 tickets across the top three national cinema chains – PVR, INOX and Cinepolis. Trade sources suggest that the film is poised for a strong opening of around Rs. 40 crores.

Adding to its advantage is the timing of the release. Border 2 arrives in cinemas over a four-day extended weekend, with Monday being a national holiday due to Republic Day. With high patriotic appeal, a wide release and robust advance trends, the film’s first-week collections are expected to be exceptionally strong.
The film boasts a powerful ensemble featuring Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty. With star power, scale and strong trade backing, Border 2 is clearly gearing up to dominate the box office conversation.
