Watch: AI Reimagines Friends With A Bollywood Cast, Internet Calls It Surprisingly Brilliant

An AI-generated video reimagining the iconic sitcom Friends with a Bollywood cast has taken social media by storm.

The iconic American sitcom Friends continues to enjoy cult status across generations, and now, artificial intelligence has given it a distinctly desi makeover. A viral AI-generated video has reimagined the beloved show with a Bollywood cast, cheekily titled Mitron — a nod to its Indian twist and tongue-in-cheek tone.

Shared online as what the creator openly called “rage bait,” the video replaces the original cast with popular Hindi film stars, recreating classic Friends moments with surprising accuracy. In this Bollywood version, Ranbir Kapoor steps into Ross Geller’s role, while Varun Dhawan channels Joey Tribbiani’s charm. Aamir Khan appears as Chandler Bing, bringing a straight-faced seriousness to the character’s sarcasm.

The female leads are equally striking: Kangana Ranaut as Phoebe Buffay, Priyanka Chopra as Rachel Green, and Kareena Kapoor Khan as Monica Geller. Adding to the surprise factor, Hrithik Roshan appears as Mike Hannigan, Phoebe’s eventual husband.

Despite expectations of backlash from die-hard fans, the response online has been largely positive. Viewers praised the casting choices and the AI’s ability to capture the essence of each character. One comment read, “Why does this actually work so well?” while another joked that Ranbir and Kareena playing Ross and Monica — cousins in real life — made the casting even more meta.

Originally aired from 1994 to 2004, Friends starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, and remains one of the most-watched sitcoms globally. This AI-driven Bollywood reimagining proves that even decades later, Friends still finds new ways to stay relevant — this time, with a desi twist.
