Recent reports surrounding Don 3 has resurfaced and this time it has the internet buzzing with excitement. According to media reports, talks between the makers of Don 3 and Shah Rukh Khan have been revived following Ranveer Singh’s exit from the project. While there has been no official confirmation yet, industry insiders claim that SRK is open to reprising his legendary role if provided one key condition is met.
Shah Rukh Khan, who made the character of Don iconic in Farhan Akhtar’s franchise is reportedly willing to retur but only if director Atlee comes on board. As reported by TellyChakkar, Shah Rukh Khan believes that Atlee joining the project could add to the film’s scale and overall appeal.
After the massive success of Jawan Shah Rukh Khan seems confident that Atlee’s vision could bring a fresh yet powerful edge to Don 3. It is also being said that Atlee may collaborate with Farhan Akhtar on the project though no final decision has been taken so far.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3 has raised several questions. Initially announced as the new face of the franchise Ranveer reportedly stepped away from the project to explore different roles. Reports suggest that after Dhurandhar the actor did not want to continue with similar “gangster themed” films. Instead he is focused working with filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Atlee.
The casting of Don 3 remains uncertain as well. Kiara Advani who was initially signed as the female lead opposite Ranveer Singh was later reported to have exited the film. Following this, rumours surfaced about Kriti Sanon stepping into the role but the makers have yet to make any official announcement.
Don 3’s plot is reportedly being reworked with several changes underway. Vikrant Massey and Vijay Deverakonda were approached for the antagonist’s role but declined due to the character’s limited depth. The project remains in the discussion stage.
With shifting cast choices and creative decisions fans can only wait to see whether Shah Rukh Khan truly returns as Don or if the franchise takes yet another unexpected turn.
