Did you know there was a time when Yash was not really a big fan of Ranveer Singh. During his interaction on social media he told his followers about how he was never a huge admirer of Ranveer Singh’s acting. In a past interview in 2018, he revealed that he used to consider Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan as the greatest actors but Ranveer did not impress him at all. But this all changed when he first saw Ranveer in and later in among others. The actor then said that those performances had opened his eyes to the talent and charisma of the performer. He even went on to compare Ranbir Kapoor’s performance with that of the likes of Vicky Kaushal Kaushal, being a fan of younger actors and going as far as that.

In an interview with ETV Bharat he said,

“Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, they are both very good. I didn’t like Ranveer Singh’s work initially, but now he looks very good. I started liking him from Bajirao Mastani, and in Padmaavat, he was stunning. He did an amazing job”

On the contrary, the reverse appreciation seems to exist. In a 2022 interview, Ranveer Singh revealed that he was constantly wishing the best for Yash while watching KGF and dubbed that genre of movie as “his first love”.

After all these years, however, the fans are very happy that the two superstar actors will be sharing the same day for the premiere of their respective films: Yash with Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups and Ranveer with Dhurandhar 2, both releasing on March 19, 2026. The teaser of Toxic has already raised a lot of discussions on social media and the intrigue about Dhurandhar 2 is only getting bigger, hence making it the most anticipated box-office clash of the year.

It is a delightful twist that the two stars, who had been admiring each other from a distance, will not only be competing in terms of films but also in terms of the respective fan bases.
