Netflix has kicked off 2026 on a celebratory note by officially renewing its breakout family entertainer Single Papa for a second season. Following an overwhelming audience response and a two week streak in Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non English TV Shows, the series is all set to return with louder laughs, deeper emotions, and fresh twists rooted in family values.
Led by Kunal Kemmu in his widely praised role as Gaurav Gehlot, Single Papa struck a powerful emotional chord with viewers through its warm and honest portrayal of a single father navigating parenthood, adoption, and evolving family dynamics. The show’s balance of humour and sensitivity made Gaurav’s journey deeply relatable, resonating across age groups and cultures.
Adding to its impact, Single Papa received recognition from the Central Adoption Resource Authority of India for its responsible and thoughtful depiction of the adoption process, positioning the series as a meaningful reference point for ethical and informed adoption narratives in mainstream entertainment.
The show’s success was further strengthened by its ensemble cast, including Prajakta Koli, Manoj Pahwa, Ayesha Raza, Neha Dhupia, Suhail Nayyar, Dayanand Shetty, Aisha Ahmed, Dhruv Rathee and Isha Talwar. Together, they brought warmth, humour, and emotional depth to the Gehlot household, turning the series into a true family favourite.
Speaking about the renewal, Tanya Bami, Series Head at Netflix India, shared that the love received by Single Papa reaffirmed the power of simple, honest storytelling. She highlighted how the show’s global success and strong Indian response reinforced Netflix’s belief in emotionally grounded family narratives that spark conversations around parenting, adoption, and unconditional love.
Executive producer Shashank Khaitan added that Single Papa was always envisioned as a long form story designed to grow with its characters. With Season 2, the makers aim to explore deeper relationships, evolving challenges, and the everyday joys of the Gehlot family with even greater warmth and sincerity.
Created and co produced by Ishita Moitra and Neeraj Udhwani, and produced by Juggernaut Productions, Single Papa has firmly established itself as one of Netflix India’s most loved family entertainers. With Gaurav’s papa duties far from over, the Gehlot household is ready to welcome audiences back with more heart, humour, and moments that feel just like home.
Single Papa Season 2 is coming soon, only on Netflix.
