Dhurandhar Effect: Shah Rukh Khan & Ranbir Kapoor Make Major Changes In Their Films

The massive success of Dhurandhar has sparked a new trend in Bollywood, with filmmakers like Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay…

The unprecedented success of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has not only rewritten box office records but has also quietly reshaped Bollywood’s storytelling strategies. Beyond its financial triumph, the film’s ability to sustain audience interest over weeks has sparked what industry insiders are now calling the “Dhurandhar Effect.”

According to trade buzz, Bollywood heavyweights Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are reportedly considering adopting the two-part film model for their upcoming ambitious projects.

Sources suggest that Shah Rukh Khan’s next film, King—backed by Red Chillies Entertainment—is being developed as a potential two-part cinematic experience. Given the film’s massive scale and long-term vision, the makers are believed to be confident that dividing the story into two instalments could help maintain narrative depth while maximising audience engagement.

Similarly, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is also said to be leaning towards a two-part structure. Known for his grand visuals, emotional depth, and meticulous detailing, Bhansali reportedly does not wish to trim or compromise the story due to runtime constraints. The two-part approach would allow him to present the narrative in its full cinematic glory.

Industry observers believe this model offers multiple advantages—extended audience curiosity, stronger word-of-mouth, creative freedom for filmmakers, and sustained box office momentum. Dhurandhar proved that viewers are willing to stay invested in layered storytelling when executed well.

However, it is important to note that no official confirmation has yet been made regarding King or Love and War being split into two parts. Final decisions will reportedly depend on script strength, editing choices, and overall narrative flow.

If greenlit, this shift could mark a significant change in Bollywood’s big-budget filmmaking approach—one inspired directly by the success and staying power of Dhurandhar.
